At Alberta Metal Works, we are proud to be the only local Cochrane and area steel service center, specializing in cutting and bending plate materials for manufacturing, construction, commercial, and industrial applications. Our state-of-the-art facility is equipped with the latest technology, including Hydefinition Plasma Cutting tools from Hypertherm, which offer high precision and near laser quality edge finish. This enables us to produce parts fast and efficiently at a competitive cost.

Our Services

We offer a wide range of services to cater to the diverse needs of our customers. Our cutting capabilities include mild steel sheet metal products up to 2 thick, and some stainless steel and aluminum sheets. We can provide cut parts or raw sheet stock for projects, and our team is always happy to chat about your projects, big or small, and help you move them along.

In addition to plasma cutting, we also offer plasma etching, which provides a very light outline of fold marks, weld lines, part numbers, hole centers, and any other markings that will improve the speed of fabrication once parts arrive at your shop. Our bending capabilities, also known as forming, use a high-precision CNC brake to bend parts to tight manufacturing tolerances. This ultimately saves you time and money in the fit-up and welding processes, while adding a level of sophistication to your end product.

Our team is also skilled in part drawings, drafting, and other services. We can help turn your ideas into parts using our internal tools or connect you with one of our highly skilled specialists in 3D design or optical scanning. Our network is broad, and we are happy to help you find the answers to your questions.

In addition to our services, we also offer a range of products, including our own line of fire pits, privacy screens, benches, garden boxes, monograms, planters, decorative metal signs, and other types of metal art. Materials

We understand that having access to the right materials is crucial for any project. That's why we offer a vast selection of metal products available through our vendors, which can be picked up from our convenient Cochrane location. Our inventory includes structural steel, flat bar, pipe, tube, angle iron, HSS, sheet metal goods, rebar, mesh, expanded metal, stainless steel sheets, aluminum sheets, checker plate, and tread plate. It's like a supermarket for metals, and we deliver new stock weekly.

Gas and Supplies

We've also partnered with Messer Canada, the largest gas supplier in North America, to offer compressed gas products from our depot in Cochrane. You can purchase or lease bottles, and we offer delivery for a fee depending on location. Our store also carries a wide range of welding filler metals, welding consumables, stick electrodes, MIG, TIG, bolts and related fasteners, shop supplies, welding clothing, welding beanies, spray paint, grinding and cutting abrasives, zip ties, strut products and related hardware, threaded rod, helmets, wire, rods, tools, and much more.
