The past few years have been challenging, but we are thrilled to have embraced our return in June 2020 and welcome you back to East Pointe Dental. We are dedicated to ensuring your visit to our office is safe and comfortable, and we are continuously following the protocols set out by our colleges to maintain a healthy environment. While masks are no longer required, we encourage you to wear one if it makes you feel more comfortable or if you are in a higher risk group.

East Pointe Dental has been serving the Tecumseh community for 14 years, and we are proud to offer a range of dental services to meet your needs. Our experienced team is committed to providing high-quality dental care in a welcoming and friendly environment.

Our Team

Dr. Ed MacMurdo, a 38-year veteran in dentistry, is excited to welcome you to his office here in Tecumseh. After receiving his doctorate in Dental Surgery at Dalhousie University, Halifax, in 1984, he practiced dentistry in various parts of Canada, including Nova Scotia, PEI, Ontario, and British Columbia. With a wealth of knowledge and experience, Dr. MacMurdo is dedicated to providing the best possible dental care.

Hannah rejoins us after a few years in business school and is happy to be back at East Pointe Dental. She will strive to make your visit here stress-free and can help you schedule your appointment or discuss your dental situation.

Jade graduated in 2008 with her diploma as a Level II Dental Assistant and from the Dental Hygiene program in June 2019. Born and raised in Windsor, Jade is proud to call Eastpointe her home. She is always happy to contribute to the office and will make your smile bright and white.

Sarah graduated from St. Clair College with her Dental Hygiene Diploma and has been with us since March 2017. She is qualified both as a hygienist and a dental assistant. Sarah is originally from Sarnia but now calls Windsor home. She is happy to make your smile brighter and healthier.

Susie has been in dental for 9 years and joined East Pointe Dental in 2021. She went to St Clair college and has a golden retriever puppy named Hank. Susie is happy to be a part of our team and looks forward to meeting you.

At East Pointe Dental, we offer a range of dental treatments to meet your needs, including:

Metal-Free Fillings

You might hear dentists claim that their dental office is metal-free, implying that there is something wrong with the use of metal in fillings (restorations). However, metals have been used in dentistry for a very long time with no proven harm to any patient. While silver fillings may not look as nice as white ones, you should not lose sleep over the fact that you have silver fillings or that they are all that you can afford. That said, any new fillings done in our office will be white fillings for a more pleasing look.

Dental Crowns

Crowns are laboratory-made "caps" that fit over a tooth that has been prepared by the dentist. They are usually made of porcelain, metal, or a combination of porcelain and metal. Crowns can make teeth more esthetic-looking while making the tooth stronger. They can cover up stains, change the color of teeth, change the shape of teeth, and slow the advancement of a fracture in a tooth.

Bridge

A bridge is a custom laboratory-fabricated restoration of two or more teeth made from porcelain, metal, or a combination of both. It will replace one or more missing teeth. For example, if you had one missing tooth in the front of your mouth, a bridge could be made using one of the adjacent teeth. It would be filed down 1-2 mm, and a "cap" would be placed over the tooth and the bridge.
