The Appliance Specialist was founded in 1993 by Paul Bastiaansen, who bring decades of experience and training in appliance servicing and gas fitting. Before starting his own business, Paul acquired certification in Appliance Servicing, licensing for gas fitting, natural gas, propane, and refrigeration at Lambton College. He then gained three years of experience in the field, servicing appliances for Sarnia's largest service company.
Starting out small, The Appliance Specialist initially focused on service and selling used appliances. Over time, the business grew into a full retail and service company, selling a wide range of Whirlpool appliances and becoming an AUTHORIZED servicer for Whirlpool Canada. However, after several years of success in retail and service, the decision was made to return to being a service-only company. This was done in order to better serve our customers' repair needs and to focus solely on providing the highest level of service.
