Dental Exams and Cleanings

Regular dental exams are crucial for early detection and treatment of gum disease and tooth decay. During your first visit with us, our dentist will conduct a comprehensive examination of your teeth, gums, and mouth. This includes checking for signs of decay, gum disease, oral cancer, and other potential issues. Our dental cleanings involve the removal of dental plaque and tartar from your teeth to prevent tooth decay and gum disease. We recommend scheduling a dental cleaning every six months to maintain your oral health properly.

Gum Disease Treatment

Gum disease affects three out of four adults in the U.S., and many people are unaware they have it. Gum disease is a bacterial infection that causes inflammation, bleeding, and eventually bone loss around the teeth. At Riverside Dental, we offer various gum disease treatments, including deep cleanings, scaling and root planing, and antibiotic therapy. Our goal is to stop the progression of the disease and help you maintain healthy gums and teeth for life.

Home Care

No treatment will be effective without proper home care. We recommend brushing and flossing twice a day, using fluoride toothpaste and a soft-bristled toothbrush. We may also recommend using mouthwash or other oral hygiene products depending on your individual needs. Our team will provide you with personalized instructions on how to maintain your oral health at home.

Meet Dr. Jody Kingston

Dr. Jody Kingston grew up in Ottawa and obtained a Bachelor of Science from the University of Ottawa. He continued his education at the University of Toronto, graduating from the dentistry program. After working in Sioux Lookout and Eskasoni First Nation on Cape Breton Island, he moved to Eganville in 2006 to be closer to home. Dr. Kingston took ownership of Riverside Dental in 2009 and looks forward to serving the valley for many years. He and his staff are committed to upgrading their skills and implementing new technology to provide the best possible care to their patients.

Dental Treatments

At Riverside Dental, we offer a wide range of dental treatments to meet your needs. These include:

• Fillings: We use the latest tooth-colored materials to fill cavities and restore the function and appearance of your teeth.
• Crowns and Bridges: Dental crowns are tooth-shaped caps that are permanently cemented over a tooth to restore its strength, shape, and size. Bridges replace missing teeth by attaching artificial teeth to adjacent natural teeth.
• Extractions: Sometimes, removing a tooth is necessary due to decay, injury, or other issues. We use local anesthesia to ensure your comfort during the procedure.
• Denture Solutions: If you have lost your teeth, we offer various denture solutions to restore your smile and oral function.
• Root Canal Therapy: Root canal therapy is a procedure to remove infected pulp tissue from a tooth and seal it to prevent further infection. We use the latest techniques to ensure a successful outcome.

Office Policies

At Riverside Dental, we deliver the finest care at the most reasonable cost to our patients. Payment is due at the time of service, and we accept various payment methods, including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Interac, cash, and certified cheques. We do not accept insurance assignments. If you need assistance with financing, we will be happy to discuss installment payments with you.
