Founded in 1976 by Raymond (Ray) Brookes, the firm has built a reputation for excellence in providing a broad range of professional accounting services, including financial statements, tax, payroll, and bookkeeping services.

Our story began when Ray, a graduate of the University of British Columbia's Bachelor of Commerce program and a Certified General Accountant (CGA), honed his skills working as an accountant in various industries, including manufacturing, wholesaling, and real estate development. Today, our award-winning firm is committed to finding customized financial solutions for each and every one of our clients.

At Brookes & Co. LLP, we pride ourselves on our small-town welcoming atmosphere and genuine desire to help. We understand that every business is unique, and we take the time to listen carefully to our clients' needs and customize our services to what they want. Our team of six members, all graduates of post-secondary accounting programs, has developed a successful synergy of people skills together with technical knowledge.

Our Services

Financial Statements: Providing financial statements for our clients in a timely and accurate manner is the cornerstone of our business. We can provide financial statements on a compilation engagement basis, which includes a balance sheet, income statement, and a note describing the basis of accounting. We can also provide review engagements, which are based on select third-party confirmations and analytical procedures, and provide limited assurance.

Tax Services: By keeping current on the latest tax laws and regulations, our team of accountants can help you navigate the complex world of taxation. We provide a range of tax services, including tax planning, tax preparation, and representation before the Canada Revenue Agency.

Bookkeeping: Our bookkeeping services include but are not limited to: accounts payable and receivable, expense tracking, cash flow management, and financial statement preparation. We can also provide training and setup for accounting systems.

Payroll: We provide payroll services, including paycheque preparation, source deductions, and year-end reporting. Our team can also assist with payroll-related compliance and ensure that your business is in compliance with all government regulations.

Accounting System Setup and Training: We can help you set up and train on various accounting systems, including QuickBooks and Simply Accounting. Our team can also provide training on financial statement preparation, budgeting, and cash flow management.

About Our Team

Our team of six members is comprised of certified accountants, each with their own unique blend of technical expertise and people skills. Our team includes several members who have their Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting and are enrolled in the Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) program.
