Millar Music Studio

Millar Music Studio is a well-established music school located in Chilliwack, British Columbia. Founded by Christine Millar, a highly experienced and accomplished pianist, teacher, and director, the studio offers a variety of services, including piano lessons, piano accompaniment, and vocal performances.

Christine Millar holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in music from Trinity Western University and a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of British Columbia. She has specialized in piano and saxophone, as well as conducting various ensembles. With a wide range of experience and expertise, Christine has been involved in teaching music to individuals of all ages and skill levels, arranging music, performing with various ensembles, and directing choirs, including a "mature" German choir, even when she didn't speak the language!

At Millar Music Studio, we offer quality one-on-one piano lessons for students of all ages and levels, from beginners to advanced. Our piano lessons are tailored to meet individual needs and goals, and we focus on providing a well-rounded education. Students begin with the Faber Method, and then move on to the Royal Conservatory Music, while also learning other styles and techniques as they progress. Theory and technique are essential components of our lessons, and we offer positive feedback and constructive criticism to help promote growth and development.

In addition to private lessons, we offer piano accompaniment services for a variety of musical endeavors. Whether you need a solo pianist for an event or a vocal accompanist for a performance, we provide excellent piano music that is sure to impress.

Our vocal trio, Amethyst, specializes in jazz standards and performs a variety of musical styles. Whether you're looking for elegant background music or upbeat entertainment, Amethyst provides an unforgettable musical experience.

Lessons at Millar Music Studio

At Millar Music Studio, we offer quality one-on-one piano lessons for students of all ages and skill levels. Our lessons are tailored to meet individual needs and goals, and we focus on providing a well-rounded education that includes theory, technique, and performance.

Our lessons are based on the Faber Method for beginners, and we then move on to the Royal Conservatory Music as students progress. In addition to these methods, we offer instruction in other styles and techniques, including jazz, pop, and classical. We believe that it's important to provide students with a well-rounded education that includes diverse musical styles.

Our lessons are $30.00 for a 30-minute session and $60.00 for a 60-minute session. We recommend that students practice at home in order to achieve success and reach their full musical potential. Optional participation in recitals and festivals is available for students, and we typically have a recital in June where students can showcase their accomplishments from the past year.
