The Erin Agricultural Society (EAS) has been a vital part of the Erin and area community for over 166 years, dating back to 1850. Founded during the 1840s and 1850s, agricultural societies were originally established to educate farmers on new agricultural techniques, with the goal of raising prosperity within the agricultural sector. Today, the EAS continues to foster education about agriculture, farming, and country life, while also creating awareness about the importance of these industries.

As a proud member of the community, the EAS has built a strong reputation for hosting one of the best fairs in Ontario, with over 3,500 visitors attending the first-ever fair in 1850. Over the years, local businesses, town residents, farmers, and agri-based organizations have supported the fair, providing services, goods, sweat equity, and financial donations. These contributions have enabled the EAS to host the fair and maintain the property and buildings.

The EAS is committed to preserving the heritage and tradition of the fair, which has become an integral part of the local culture. The fair has evolved over the years, adapting to changing times and tastes, while still maintaining its core values of community, agriculture, and entertainment. From the truck pulls and demo derbies to the midway, live music, and delicious food vendors, the Erin Fall Fair offers something for everyone.

History of the Fair

The Erin Fall Fair has a rich history dating back to 1850, when it was first held on the fairgrounds. Over the years, the fair has grown and evolved, adapting to changing times and tastes. Despite setbacks, such as the devastating fire in 1994 that destroyed the main fair building, the EAS has continued to rebuild and grow.

The fair has become an integral part of the local community, with many families attending the event year after year. The fair is a celebration of rural life, agriculture, and community, with a focus on homecraft, animal exhibits, and automotive shows. Visitors can expect to see a wide range of competitions, exhibitions, and entertainment, including tractor pulls, demo derbies, and live music.
