At Hammond Transportation, we are proud to be a family-owned and operated business that has been serving the community for over 65 years. Our story began in 1944 when Orvil Hammond, at just 14 years old, took the advice of his principal to quit school and start working. Within a year, Orvil had purchased a 1938 Ford sedan and started his own taxi business, which quickly grew into a local institution.
As the business grew, Orvil's father, Harold, joined him, and soon friends and relatives were added to the team. The company expanded its services to include panel vans for student transportation, trucks, and ambulances. In the mid-1970s, Hammond Transportation Ltd. was formally established, and the company focused on bus transportation and travel. In the 1990s, the management of the business was gradually turned over to the next generation, and today, our company is led by Greg Hammond, Orvil's youngest son.
Our Services
At Hammond Transportation, we offer a wide range of services to meet the transportation needs of our customers. Our fleet of over 175 vehicles includes highway coaches, activity buses, school buses, executive vans, and black cars. We provide transportation services for schools, colleges, summer camps, sports teams, senior clubs, corporate events, and conventions. We also offer charter services for weddings, reunions, and other special events.
