Traditional Chinese Medicine Explained

Traditional Chinese Medicine (T.C.M.) is an ancient healing art that recognizes the body as a whole. When disease arises, both the disease and the underlying components of the disease must be treated to obtain optimum results. Diagnosis is made by piecing together all the various symptoms that a patient might present with. Once health is restored, maintenance is achieved either through follow-up treatments or Qigong exercises, along with suggested dietary changes and exercise regimes.

Our clinic offers a range of acupuncture services, including:

• Initial Consultation: This appointment includes an extensive interview, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment according to Traditional Chinese Medicine.
• Extended Visits: For patients who haven't been in the clinic in over 2 years, this allows Lisa to review your TCM diagnosis and alter the treatment protocol as needed.
• Subsequent Visits: For follow-up treatments to maintain health and wellness.
• Acupuncture: A procedure by which disease can be prevented and treated through proper insertion of needles into points accompanied by different manipulations.
• Auricular Acupuncture: A procedure by which chronic and more difficult conditions are treated using the sites on the ear which correspond to other parts of the body.
• Moxibustion: Treats and prevents diseases by applying heat to points or certain locations of the human body.
• Cupping: A method of treating disease by causing local congestion.
