Karate BC

Karate BC is the provincial governing body for karate in British Columbia, Canada. We foster the development and promotion of karate throughout the province, supporting clubs, athletes, and officials of all levels. Our mission is to:

• Promote and develop karate in British Columbia
• Foster a strong and sustainable karate community
• Support athletes in their pursuit of excellence
• Advocate for karate at all levels of government and within the community

1. Competition and Events

• Hosting and organizing the annual Karate BC Provincial Championships
• Providing opportunities for athletes to participate in national and international competitions
• Organizing workshops and clinics for athletes and coaches

2. Development and Education

• Offering NCCP-certified coaching and judging programs
• Providing online resources and educational materials for coaches, athletes, and parents
• Organizing training and development programs for officials

3. Club Support

• Connecting karate clubs with resources and funding opportunities
• Providing a platform for clubs to connect and collaborate
• Promoting the benefits of karate to the community

4. Advocacy and Partnerships

• Working with partners to promote karate and raise its profile in British Columbia
• Advocating for the inclusion of karate in school programs and community initiatives
• Partnering with other sport organizations to share expertise and resources

5. Governance and Leadership

• Maintaining a strong and accountable governance structure
• Providing leadership and representation for karate in British Columbia
• Working collaboratively with stakeholders to advance the sport
