As an Alberta resident, you are eligible for full coverage for medically necessary physician health services under the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan (AHCIP). Our insured services include:
- Medically necessary physician consultation and examination
- Medically required surgical procedures
- Necessary nursing services
- Laboratory, radiological, and other diagnostic procedures
Uninsured Services
If you require medical care that is not covered under the AHCIP, you may be able to find alternative coverage through private supplementary insurance or government-funded programs. Uninsured services may include:

- Routine eye exams for residents 19-64 years of age
- Eyeglasses and contact lenses
