We also offer OCTs (Optical Coherence Tomography) and visual field tests at our office.
Children's Eye Exams
At Beaches Optometry, we understand the importance of regular eye exams for children. Children up to the age of 19 are eligible for one comprehensive eye exam every 12 months, covered by OHIP. We use a range of tests, including shape and picture recognition, to assess the development of their eyes and determine if glasses are needed. We also recommend annual eye exams for children to ensure their eyes are healthy and developing properly.
Senior's Eye Exams
As we age, our eyes undergo natural changes that can affect our vision. At Beaches Optometry, our senior's eye exams are designed to detect and address these changes. We offer a comprehensive exam that checks your vision and the health of your eyes, including glaucoma tests and a dilated fundus exam. We also offer additional diagnostic tests that are not covered by OHIP.
Diabetic Eye Exams
Diabetes can lead to diabetic retinopathy, a serious condition that can cause permanent vision loss. At Beaches Optometry, we recommend annual eye exams for people with diabetes to monitor their eyes and detect any changes early on. These exams are covered by OHIP once a year, regardless of age.
Retinal Imaging and OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography)
We are equipped with advanced technology that allows us to provide retinal examinations using OCT (optical coherence tomography).
