Disappointment with Quality and Lack of Transparency
Some reviewers were dissatisfied with their experience at Down East Coffee. Darren Eaton, who gave the shop 2 stars, was looking for freshly roasted beans and was disappointed to find that the roaster could not provide information on when the beans were roasted and had no "roast date" on the bags. After trying three varieties, he found the end-product to be poor due to older, stale roasted beans. Despite asking for freshly roasted beans, he was still unsatisfied with the results.
Positive Experiences
On the other hand, many reviewers had excellent experiences at Down East Coffee. Several reviewers praised the shop's selection of locally roasted coffees, with some stating that they had tried many other coffee roasters but Down East had the best coffee. Reviewers raved about the shop's quality, customer service, and the personal touch with each order.
