At Steelcase Tires, we are proud to be one of the oldest and most respected wheel and tire shops in the Greater Toronto Area. Our story began in 1987 when Harold Boake, a former crop and livestock farmer, decided to trade in his plow for a new career in the tire business. With his partner, Jim Bridgeman, they leased a small unit in Markham and named their shop Steelcase Tires, inspired by the office furniture company that was located on the same strip.
Our History
Harold's transition from farming to the tire business was a natural one, as he had developed a passion for cars and had some knowledge of tires from his farming days. Jim, who had been a supplier of equipment to Harold's farm, joined him in the venture, bringing his own experience in the industry. Over the years, Steelcase Tires has grown and evolved, expanding its operations to include a wholesale division, serving new car dealers, service centres, taxi companies, and other tire retailers.
