Our Story

Paul Y. Construction (B.C.) Ltd. is a private company wholly owned by the Tso family from Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Vancouver. The family has been active in civil and building construction and real estate investment and development for over 70 years. Originally founded in Shanghai in the 1940s, the company led by Paul Y. Tso found success by integrating western engineering technology with traditional workmanship. In 1949, Mr. Tso relocated the company to Hong Kong where Paul Y.'s success continued. In both Hong Kong and Singapore, we built major landmarks including office buildings, hotels, luxury residential apartments, civic facilities, and public works.

Our History

The Tso family's entrepreneurial spirit began in Shanghai in the 1940s. The company expanded to Hong Kong in 1949 and later to Singapore in 1953. In the 1970s, Paul Y. Construction (B.C.) Ltd. was established in Canada to focus on real estate investment and property development in Vancouver. Under independent management, Paul Y. Engineering is engaged in construction contracting in Hong Kong, Macau, and Singapore, as a wholly owned subsidiary of a listed Hong Kong entity.

Our Corporate Principles

The founder of our company, Paul Y. Tso, was a visionary leader who recognized the importance of infrastructure development. He played a key role in organizing the consortium that submitted the tender in 1966 to build the cross harbour tunnel linking Hong Kong Island to the Kowloon Peninsula. The tunnel was completed and opened in 1972 and remains a vital infrastructure and one of the busiest traffic tunnels in the world.
