At Bidgood Design Studio, we are a team of passionate and experienced design professionals dedicated to creating unique and meaningful spaces that inspire joy and warmth. Our studio was founded in 2011 by Creative Director Kyla Bidgood, based on the West Coast of Canada. We take pride in our ability to blend different design eras and styles to create spaces that are both functional and artistically uplifting.

Our Approach

We believe that good design takes time to create, document, and procure. Our approach is holistic, methodical, and rooted in a thoughtful and concept-driven process. We avoid short-term trends and align our decisions and selections with our founding vision to ensure that every project has depth and longevity. We embody the end user in a personal and profound way to ensure that our spaces have a lasting impact.

Our Services

Whether you're looking to renovate your existing home or build a new one from the ground up, our services are tailored to meet your unique needs and goals. Our process is research-heavy, with a deep discovery stage that lets us unlock your style and open up a world of possibilities. We take the time to get to know you and your lifestyle, and we work with you to create a design that suits your needs and exceeds your expectations.

Our Process

Our design process is a collaborative and iterative journey that involves six key stages:

1. Programming and Schematic Design: We kick off the project by conducting research and discovery to understand your needs, goals, and preferences. We then develop a schematic design and prepare mood boards and concept direction.

2. Concept and Design Development: We further develop the concept and design direction, and create 2D and 3D visualizations. We collaborate with other licensed professionals in architecture, engineering, and other fields as required.

3. Pricing Package Documentation: We create detailed pricing drawings, including demolition plans, floor plans, and other relevant documentation.

4. Construction Documentation: We prepare final construction drawings and specifications, including 2D and 3D visualizations.

5. Furniture, Artwork, and Accessories: We inventory items to be reused, layout furniture, and curate new furnishings, artwork, and accessories to complement the design.

6. Construction Administration: We attend site visits, review shop drawings and submittals, and respond to queries and provide supplemental information throughout the construction phase.
