Empowering individuals through martial arts
Aikido Tendokai is a Japanese martial arts dojo located in downtown Toronto, committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for individuals of all ages to practice the art of Aikido. Our mission is to promote physical and mental well-being, while fostering a sense of community and respect among our members.
Our Philosophy
Our dojo is founded on the principles of Aikido, a martial art that emphasizes harmonious interaction between individuals, using techniques that redirect an attacker's energy rather than resist it. We believe that Aikido is not only an excellent means of self-defense but also a holistic practice that can benefit one's overall health, balance, and personal growth.

Our expert instructors, led by Yumi Nakamura Sensei, a Shihan Rokudan (sixth-degree black belt) with over 40 years of experience, provide guidance and support to help you achieve your Aikido goals.
