At City Carpet Services, we have been proudly serving the Saskatoon area for over 100 years. Our story began in 1914, when a small business was established in the heart of the prairies. Over the decades, our family-owned business has grown and evolved to meet the ever-changing needs of our customers. Our History
Our journey began when Saskatoon was a dusty prairie city. In 1914, a small business was established, and it wasn't until 1916 that Thomas Arthur Dawes purchased the business. Dawes expanded the carpet and area rug cleaning services to include rug and carpet binding. Throughout the years, the business continued to grow, and so did the Dawes family. In 1930, Thomas Dawes unfortunately passed away, leaving his wife, Edith, to operate the company while caring for their children during the challenging times.

Area Rug Sales
We carry a selection of handpicked, quality synthetic and wool area rugs made in Europe and the Middle East, supplied by a Canadian company. Our knowledgeable staff is committed to guiding you in choosing the right quality, style, and size of area rug to best suit your needs. We also offer on-site customization of your chosen area rug and provide rug underlays cut to size.
Area Rug Cleaning
We clean all types of area rugs at our location. From Oriental wool rugs such as Chinese, Indian, and Persian to synthetic area rugs or carpeting removed from wall-to-wall installations in homes. Our regular cleaning procedure includes vibrating of rugs for dust removal, vacuuming of both sides of rugs, treatment of spots and stains, shampooing of rugs with mild shampoo solution and extraction, steam rinsing of rugs with rinse solution and extraction, and fringes cleaned, rinsed, and extracted.
Carpet Binding or Serging
Whether you want leftover carpet to be made into small mats or larger pieces to be made into area rugs, City Carpet Services can cut it to size and finish the edges right here in our plant. We are regularly open 9 to 5 Monday to Friday at which time you can drop off or pick up your orders.
