Our History
The Carlu has a rich history that dates back to 1930, when it was first opened as "Eaton's Seventh Floor." The space was designed by renowned French architect Jacques Carlu, who was commissioned by Lady Eaton to bring high society and world-class culture to Toronto. The result was a masterpiece of Art Moderne architecture, featuring clean lines, grand scale, and exquisite details. Today, The Carlu is recognized as one of Toronto's best examples of Art Moderne architecture and has been designated as a National Historic Site of Canada.

Our Round Room is perfect for intimate gatherings of up to 400 guests, and our Clipper Room is ideal for smaller events of up to 70 guests.
