I spent my childhood fishing for salmon and sturgeon in the Willamette River in northwest Oregon. As a youngster, I recall observing a few fishing guides on the Columbia River and feeling that they had the most desirable job. At just 8 years old, I already knew what I wanted for my future.
I am now a professional fishing guide, many years later. Honestly, after guiding for years, I still feel fortunate to make a living from fishing. It feels like a dream. I am passionate about my work, and those who have fished with me can attest to the enthusiasm and energy I bring to the river every day. I cannot imagine a more enjoyable way to spend the day than catching a large sturgeon or salmon.

Thank you CRFA for an amazing day on the River. Our family had such an awesome day on the on the boat with Buddy and Dug. We limited out a couple hours into our trip. Even the kids got their limit! Buddy made the trip so much fun for all of us. Ive been vacuum packing salmon all day. Cant wait for our next trip!

What an awesome day! I took my wife out for her first Salmon fishing trip with Buddy. She wasnt really sure if she would enjoy it. Fishing has never been on her list of things to do, but I talked her into giving it a try. Buddy at Columbia River Fishing Adventures is the perfect guide for a first timer. He has beautiful new gear all set up for you. The boat is excellent and we were given great instructions on what to bring to be comfortable. We went over what to do when someone got a fish on, and it didnt take long for her to be reeling like a pro. She hooked one, but lost it. Buddy was very encouraging, helping her understand how the fish got away, and what she needed to do to keep it on the hook. The second time she landed a beautiful Salmon. When we all had our catch, the fish get cleaned and bagged right on the dock. We had a wonderful time, and left looking forward to doing more fishing. If youre not a pro, but want to fish like one, go out with CRFA.

Wow - What a great experience!!! Sturgeon fishing was incredible. Buddy and Travis were amazing and the fishing was great. We will be talking about this fishing adventure for years to come. It was a wonderful day on the water, creating memories that will last a lifetime. We will definitely be back for a different fishing season.

Two buddies and I went on back to back fishing day trips (walleye/sturgeon) with CRFA, and I can say without reservation they were some of the best experiences Ive had on the water. Travis and Buddy were amazing guides that put us on fish, kept us on fish, and were awesome to talk to and gave fantastic instruction on how to be successful throughout the day.
Professional in every sense of the word, yet easy going to the point that you felt you were out there with another one of your friends. I would absolutely recommend them and our crew is already thinking another trip for other species should be in the works sooner rather than later.
Also shout out to Dug the Dog, chillest first mate Ive had on a boat.

We had an unforgettable experience with Columbia River Fishing Adventures! Our guide, Buddy, was fantastic, and his dog Dug made the trip even more fun. We went sturgeon fishing in Rufus, Oregon, and it was nonstop action from start to finish. We caught sturgeon of all sizes. Buddys expertise and enthusiasm made the trip a blast, and we couldnt have asked for a better day on the water. We highly recommend Columbia River Fishing Adventures to anyone looking for an amazing fishing trip!

We had a great time fishing with Buddy on the Columbia for Walleye. He was easy to communicate, super knowledgeable and friendly. His dog Dug was out with us as well which was a great bonus. Buddy got us on some walleye and even a handful of bass and perch. His boat is nice and spacious, comfortable too. Well definitely be booking another trip with Buddy and Dug.

We have fished with Buddy and Travis 5 times now and every trip has been amazing!! We started with a couple sturgeon trips which absolutely exceeded our expectations. If you have never caught a sturgeon before I highly recommend you get yourself a trip booked! Its an experience of a lifetime! We have also done a salmon trip and most recently a walleye trip. Every time we get on the boat with them it feels like we are just out fishing with some friends! Buddy and Travis are some of the kindest, hardest working guides we have ever met! They will forever have a returning client with our family.

Guided Fishing trip Columbia River. Buddy is amazing, good time on the boat no stress of a guide yelling or pressure to do the right thing, entertaining, friendly and FINDS.. the FISH. When others are struggling to find the fish, CRFA makes it happen. Puts in the work before and during the trip. Reccomend 100% and will continue to use for all fishing thru the entire Columbia River fishery. 6 stars!

We are repeat customers looking forward to our 4th fishing adventure. Buddy is an exceptional guide. From his experience to his patience and friendly, laid back demeanor, he makes the day fun and stress free. His boat is clean, the chairs are cozy and I always feel safe, even through our last trip with waves so giant they were splashing into the boat. My kids always have a great experience. Once we were super adventurous and fished in early January. It was sooo cold but Buddy was prepared and pulled out a heater so we kept warm in between the action. We caught lots of fish, appreciated a beautiful sunrise on the water and had another great day.

My husband and I have gone out twice now with Buddy and both times were amazing. Buddy is funny, personable, and knows his business! Both my husband I caught our very first salmon with Buddy's help.. bucket list ticked off for both of us. We have thoroughly enjoyed our time on his spacious and very comfortable boat. I take 2-3 fishing charters a year and this was by FAR the BEST one Ive ever been on. The fishing was great, the scenery was beautiful and Buddy is a great captain. His communication, the gear he uses, his comfortable boat, his tenacity to find fish, and even being able to use an extra warm jacket all made for a memorable day. From start till finish it was a great day on the water. I cant wait to book my next trip. Oh and I cant forget to mention Dug the dog. Hes the best and it was fun showering him with attention and love.
