Summit Driving Academy is a premier driving school located in the heart of Duncan, BC. We are committed to improving driver safety on the roads by providing high-quality in-car driving lessons that are centered around our students. We believe that every student is unique, and as such, we tailor our lessons to meet the individual learning styles and paces of our students. Our ultimate goal is to transfer the skills necessary for students to become safe and responsible drivers, continually improving beyond just passing the road test.
At Summit Driving Academy, we are proud to offer our services in both English and French, making us an inclusive and accessible option for all students. Our coaching methods are based on the Hermes Project, a research initiative in the EU that has become the highest standard for training new drivers in BC. Our approach emphasizes the importance of students taking responsibility for their driving from the outset, resulting in new drivers who are better prepared when they begin driving on their own.
Our Services
At Summit Driving Academy, we offer a range of services designed to meet the needs of all of our students. Our most popular service is our in-car driving lessons, which focus on practical skills and techniques necessary to become a safe and confident driver. Our lessons are centered around coaching, which encourages students to think for themselves and make their own decisions, rather than relying on constant instruction. This approach prepares students for the responsibility of driving on their own, without the guidance of a co-driver.
Our in-car driving lessons cover a wide range of topics, including hazard scanning, driving straight, stopping position, cornering position, left and right turns, shoulder checks, speed control in 30 zones, highways, merging and yielding, lane changes, traffic-controlled intersections, parallel parking, reverse stall parking, two and three-point turns, reversing straight, hill parking, curb parking, U-turns and roundabouts. We also offer specialized lessons for seniors and those who may need more in-car training.
Our lessons are typically 90 minutes long and consist of at least 75 minutes of driving time, plus 15 minutes to review progress and confirm the next lesson. We offer both individual lessons and packages for those who may need more in-car training. Our packages include six, eight, ten, twelve, sixteen, and twenty lessons, with discounts available for purchasing multiple lessons at once. We also offer gift certificates for those who wish to give the gift of safe driving.
At Summit Driving Academy, we are committed to ensuring the satisfaction of our students. If you are not satisfied with the instruction you received, we will make it right or provide a refund for any remaining lessons. We accept payment via interac e-transfer at the time of booking and offer flexible cancellation policies, with refunds available for cancellations made at least 24 hours before a scheduled booking.
