Our Program
The McMaster Contemporary Medical Acupuncture Program is a 300-hour certificate program that has been specifically designed for healthcare professionals. Our program is skill-based, clinically oriented, and focuses on the latest contemporary scientific medical knowledge about the treatment of pain and dysfunction using neurofunctional acupuncture and electroacupuncture. With over 100 hours devoted to practical workshops, our program provides healthcare professionals with the hands-on experience necessary to confidently integrate acupuncture into their practice.
Our History
Since 1998, over 3,000 healthcare professionals have achieved their training goals through our program. We are proud to be the original McMaster University Contemporary Medical Acupuncture Program, sponsored by the McMaster University Department of Anesthesia, and co-founded by Dr. Angelica Fargas-Babjak and Dr. Alejandro Elorriaga Claraco.
