History of the Founder
Our founder, Thomas Harry Hoffman, started his career in funeral service in 1926 when he worked for Peter McIsaac, Undertaker in Dashwood. He became licensed in 1934 and purchased the business upon Peter McIsaac's death in 1939. In 1941, Harry built the first residential Funeral Home in the area, located in Dashwood. The business grew, and an addition was made in 1977, followed by a new front lobby in 1995. Today, T. Harry Hoffman's legacy is carried on by his son Jim and Jim's wife Donna, who became the sole owners in 2012. Under their leadership, the funeral home continues to uphold the reputation of care and compassion established by Harry.
