The Mining Association Of Manitoba

The Mining Association of Manitoba (MAMI) is a well-established, active organization that has been representing the interests of Manitoba's mining industry for over 80 years. As a non-government, non-profit trade association, MAMI is dedicated to advocating for its member firms and working collaboratively with governments, Indigenous communities, and other stakeholders to advance the industry. MAMI's mission is to promote the growth of Manitoba's mining sector through education, events, and partnership-building. Our vision is to reshape perceptions about mining and create a future where all Manitobans benefit from the critical minerals and metals industry.

Manitoba's mining sector is a significant contributor to the province's economy, representing the majority of the 3rd largest resource sector. With incredible potential to help meet the global demand for critical minerals and metals essential to a green economy, the mining industry is poised to play a vital role in shaping a sustainable future.

MAMI is committed to promoting safety and high regulatory standards in Manitoba's mining operations. Through the Mines Accident Prevention Association of Manitoba (MAPAM), which was founded to meet the increasing need for safety and consulting services, MAMI ensures that safety remains a top priority. Our safety & mine rescue committee works diligently to address industry concerns and improve safety regulations.

Mine Rescue Competition

MAMI organizes an annual mine rescue competition, which serves as an excellent training experience for the mine rescue community and helps to promote safety best practices. Participants from various mining operations across the province come together to showcase their skills and learn from one another, fostering a strong culture of safety and collaboration within the industry.
