Mountain Pizza and Steakhouse Reviews

  • Jennie L., 4 stars: So Whitecourt seems to have limited restaurants and less that are independent. So I decided to try Mountain Pizza since I enjoy their sister restaurant in Edson. The restaurant is dated, but this is often the standard in small towns. Could use an update. Our server was friendly and quick. I haven't had a steak for a while so I chose the New York Strip with a side of baked potato. It was good for the price point. 25 bucks for a steak cooked properly was good. And who doesn't like baked potato slathered with butter and sour cream and bacon bits. I would have liked this with green onions though. The carrot and sprig of parsley was unnecessary and shows how dated their restaurant is. The French Onion soup came out pretty sloppy looking, however the flavors were there. Really nice caramelization on the onions. I would order this again. My husband had the lasagna. Loved the sauce. It is a very hearty dish and will fill you up. If I was in Whitecourt again, I would probably come back. If you like a good steak or some basic but tasty home cooked Italian food try it out.
  • Derek Jackson, 4 stars: I always enjoy it at the Mountain Pizza and Steakhouse. The little things like a baked tomato are a hit in my books. Heavy lifting with your pizza slice arm is needed as well. Mega dish.
  • Farsin Derakhshan, 5 stars: A tradition in Edson, the food here never disappoints. Good quality and attentive service. A must go if you are in Edson.
  • Adamo Giuseppe, 1 star: I've rated from here 3 times and each time it just got worse. Everything is bargain basement horrible. If the prices reflected that it wouldn't be bad but everything is terribly overpriced for food that's barely edible in some cases.
  • Charlene Sorken, 5 stars: A wonderful place for lunch! Perfect for local diners and for highway travelers. We called ahead from the road to place our order. Upon arrival we found a table set and waiting for us. We were seated and our order was delivered as soon as we sat down. The pizza was piping hot and delicious, the salad was cold, crisp and delicious. The menu offers lots of options, the service was excellent, the restaurant is clean and cozy. The design of the room creates the illusion of a mountain and a warm relaxing atmosphere. We highly recommend this restaurant!
  • Daniel Lafreniere, 5 stars: We were driving through Edson on our way to Jasper and stopped here for a late lunch. I ordered the Steak and Greens and was pleasantly surprised. The steak was excellent! My wife had the pepperoni and mushrooms pizza and also enjoyed it. The price was very reasonable and the service was good. Thank you!
  • Bob Ma, 4 stars: Steaks were simple, uncomplicated and delicious! Doneness was a perfect mid rare. Garlic bread is just a tad stale but forgivable due to how busy it was. Service was excellent! And the environment was comfy! Lovely spot for dining!
  • Janice McGovern, 5 stars: This is the most awesome place to eat. The food is sooo great, service is fast and friendly and for the price the value is excellent. I get a perfectly cooked steak every time, sides and salads are really tasty. Cheese cake and coffee were also great. Highly recommended.
  • Terry McGovern, 5 stars: I don't live close to Mountain Pizza but I visit it every time I go through Edson and this last visit was typical. Friendly fast service, incredibly good food and reasonable prices. Our steak fillets were perfect in every way. Salad, spaghetti, baked potato and garlic toast were equally perfect. 100% recommended. Not a single flaw in the meal or the service.
  • Jamie Nordquist, 5 stars: A cozy place. The food was great the tomahawk Rib eye and slow cooked ribs. The service was great, quick and very friendly! My only complaint was the music was a tiny bit too loud. I highly recommend people stop in!
  • Hillarie P., 5 stars: Everything was DELICIOUS! Homemade menu with a lot of variety. The crack chicken dip is to die for. Yum!
  • Sarah, 4 stars: Great birthday dinner at Mountain Pizza and Steak House! Fantastic server, plenty of food options and the lounge environment is super cozy and inviting. Food was better then expected an portions were huge. Stuffed mushrooms were my favourite. Only negative would be that my steak was quite well done and I ordered it medium rare. T-bone my bf order was cooked perfectly. All in all a great experience and we would happily come back! Restaurant was simple to find with a fare amount of parking. Washrooms were extremely clean.
  • Manfred Kintop, 5 stars: Everything I've ever ordered is great. The steak sandwich is my personal favorite from any restaurant I've been to. The pizza is also amazing. And I cook pizza every week in my wood fired oven.
