Challenge Yourself, Improve Yourself, Have Fun

The McCleery Golf Club is a vibrant golfing community in Vancouver, BC, founded in 1959. Our mission is to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment where members can come together to share a passion for golf, friendship, and competition. Since its inception, the club has evolved to become a thriving community of golf enthusiasts, with a strong focus on camaraderie, teamwork, and a deep respect for the game.

Our Services

At the McCleery Golf Club, we offer a range of services designed to cater to the diverse needs of our members. Our course, designed by Canadian architect Ted Baker, features well-sculpted fairways and meticulously maintained greens, providing a true test of golf. We have a wide range of tournaments and events throughout the year, from March to November, both fun and competitive. Our membership is open to males of legal age in B.C. with any playing ability.

Handicap

An Official Golf Canada Handicap Factor is an essential requirement for playing in many provincial, national, international, and domestic club events. Additionally, it makes the game of golf more enjoyable by enabling golfers of differing abilities to compete on an equitable basis. Tracking your Official Golf Canada Handicap Factor opens the door to a variety of fun game play options, including Stableford and Match Play. Rules

Our Club is governed by a set of Conditions of Play, Pace of Play, and Local Rules. These rules are designed to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all members. We take pace of play very seriously, and any group playing the front nine in more than 2:10 and 15 minutes or more behind the group in front will incur a one-stroke penalty. Similarly, groups playing the back nine in more than 2:15 and 15 minutes or more behind the group in front will also incur a penalty.

We also have a Code of Conduct that outlines expectations for member behavior, and any member found to be engaging in behavior that is injurious to the character, interest, or good order of the club will face disciplinary action.

Cancellation Policy

Members who cancel their participation in a tournament after the draw has been posted may incur a cancellation fee. To avoid penalties, members are encouraged to find a replacement or notify the Club Captain as soon as possible.

LOCAL RULES

The club follows Golf Canada Rules along with local rules that govern all play. In team events, golfers are encouraged to consider "picking up" if their score would not affect the team score. In individual Stableford competitions, players should consider "picking up" if their score would be "0". Our local rules also require that putts MUST be holed in individual stroke play.
