Welcome to the Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of Agriculture (NLFA), where our mission is to promote and advance the social and economic conditions of those engaged in agricultural pursuits in our beautiful province. As an organization, we believe that by sharing information and speaking with a united voice, farmers can work more effectively for the betterment of the agriculture industry, and for the improvement of our Province as a whole.

Our History

With almost 50 years of history, NLFA has been carrying out various projects to strengthen and grow the provincial agriculture industry. Our projects, such as Agriculture in the Classroom NL, the NL Young Farmers Initiative, and the NL Living Lab project, are currently ongoing and are developing the industry, ensuring sustainability, and educating the next generation.

Our Services

At NLFA, we offer a range of services to our members, including:

• Representation: We represent farmers and farmer groups in the province, providing a united voice for the agriculture industry.
• Information Sharing: We share information and resources with our members to help them stay up-to-date on the latest developments in the industry.
• Project Development: We develop and implement projects that benefit the agriculture industry, such as Agriculture in the Classroom NL, the NL Young Farmers Initiative, and the NL Living Lab project.
• Advocacy: We advocate for policies and programs that benefit the agriculture industry and work with provincial and federal governments to ensure that the needs of farmers are met.
• Events: We host events, such as Open Farm Day, to promote agriculture awareness and provide opportunities for farmers to connect with the public.
• Resources: We provide resources, such as Agriview Recipes, to help farmers and the general public stay informed about the industry.

Our Team

Our team is made up of dedicated individuals who are passionate about agriculture and committed to serving our members. Our Board of Directors is composed of representatives of the various commodity boards, producer organizations, regional groups, and agricultural interest groups.
