Reach Higher, Achieve More

At ALTA Halifax Gymnastics Club, we're more than just a gym - we're a community dedicated to helping our gymnasts reach new heights. Founded in 1991, our club has a rich history of providing top-notch gymnastics programs and services to children and athletes of all ages and skill levels.

Our Story

Our journey began when Keiji Yamanaka, Tak Kikuchi, and Carleen Cavanagh merged two clubs, NovaGold/Tumblebugs and Maritime Academy, to create what is now known as ALTA Gymnastics Club. After six years at the South Street Gorsebrook gym, we moved into our current facility in 1997. Our name, ALTA, is derived from the Olympic motto "Citius, Altius, Fortius" (faster, higher, stronger), which has inspired our gymnasts to strive for excellence for over 25 years.
