Exceeding Your Expectations, One Smile at a Time.

Bayview Framing & Art, a proud establishment of downtown Ladysmith since 2000, has been dedicated to preserving and showcasing cherished items and pieces of art. Founded by Mike Moulds and Wendy Rawluk, the business was then taken over in 2010 by Wanda Dombrowski, a painter, and her husband Bruce Whittington, a photographer. As former customers of Bayview, Wanda and Bruce have continued the tradition of quality workmanship at reasonable prices.

Bayview Framing & Art is located in the historic Nicholson Cottage, built in 1900 as a family home by Dan Nicholson, who later became a mayor of Ladysmith. This charming location houses a wide variety of services, from framing options and local art to gifts and hidden gems. With a wall of frames numbering in the thousands, there is a perfect frame for every piece that comes through our doors.

We are proud supporters of the local arts community and are excited to showcase the talents of many local artists on our walls. From painters and potters to glass artists, jewelers, and photographers, the work on display changes regularly, so there's always something new to see.

Our Services

At Bayview Framing & Art, we offer a range of services to meet your framing needs. We believe in using the highest quality of materials and workmanship to ensure your valued pieces remain in good condition for future generations.

*Picture Framing*: Framing serves two primary purposes: to enhance the artwork being framed and to achieve this without damaging the artwork. Our team is skilled in using conservation and archival methods to protect your artwork from light, acid content in mounting material, and other causes.

*Specialty Framing*: Some of the most demanding challenges in framing involve objects that do not lay flat. We offer specialty framing using deep frames known as object boxes or shadowboxes to frame items such as historic garments, ceramic pieces, or sports memorabilia.

*How It's Made*: We believe in transparency and are excited to let you into our world, sharing techniques, tips, and some of the challenges we are faced with on a weekly basis.

*Fine Art & Gifts*: Bayview is proud to highlight the talents of local artists and crafters. Our store is filled with unique and beautiful pieces, including paintings, pottery, glass art, jewelry, and photography.

*News & Events*: Stay up-to-date with art shows, street festivals, open houses, and more.

Wanda and Bruce are proud to support the 10% Shift initiative, which encourages people in the community to support local businesses that provide good service and value, and also support local community organizations and programs.

Please note that we do not offer passport photo services.
