At Balkwill Pharmacy, we pride ourselves on being a locally owned and operated pharmacy that has been serving the community of Trochu and the surrounding area for generations. Our story began in the early 1920s when local entrepreneur Archie Kerr founded our pharmacy, which was later sold to James Balkwill, earning us our name. Over the years, our pharmacy has been operated by James Balkwill's family, with his son Jim continuing the family tradition before selling the business to long-time employee and pharmacist, Isabel Whyte, in 1999. Isabel worked tirelessly to continue the legacy of Balkwill Pharmacy until February 2018, when the business was sold to brothers and business partners, Brandon and Shane Wagstaff.

As a family-run business, we understand the importance of building strong relationships with our patients and customers. Our team is dedicated to providing exceptional service, ensuring that every individual who walks through our doors feels valued and respected. We take pride in being a community-driven pharmacy, actively giving back to our local community and providing specialized pharmaceutical services to St. Mary's Healthcare Center's long-term care facility.

Meet Our Team

Our team consists of two registered pharmacists, Brandon and Clay, who possess "Additional Prescribing Authorization" (APA) and injection certifications. We also have a dedicated team of pharmacy assistants, including Sandra, Faye, Kelly, and Nazel, who work together to ensure that our patients receive the highest level of care. Isabel, our former owner, still fills in occasionally to provide coverage for our pharmacists when they are away.

In addition to our clinical services, we also have a retail section that offers a wide range of health and wellness products, as well as unique giftware and groceries. Our team is passionate about helping patients manage their health and wellness, and we strive to provide personalized advice and support whenever possible.
