Background
Dashwood Construction was founded in 1977 by Don Dashwood, who moved to Salt Spring Island with his family in search of a better community and a place to fulfill the dream of creating a career in Custom Home construction. Don's background in steel construction gave him solid skills to bring to this new direction, and he quickly established a reputation for reliability and talent. Solid working relationships and word-of-mouth recommendations led to the growth of the company.
Steve Dashwood joined the company in 1992 after apprenticing with Don and building a base of knowledge and skills in carpentry and construction. Steve's artistic skills and experience in working with custom house contractors in Whistler, B.C. helped him excel in the industry. In 1997, Steve returned to Salt Spring Island as a leading partner, committed to carrying the company into the future and building a home for himself and his family.
