Elgin Agricultural Centre

The Elgin Federation of Agriculture is a member-based county affiliate of the Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA), one of Ontario's general farm organizations. Our purpose is to lobby to improve the economic and social well-being of farmers in Elgin County, providing members with information on agricultural issues and increasing public awareness of agriculture and the food system.

As a strong advocate for the farming industry, we work tirelessly to ensure that the voices of our members are heard at the local, provincial, and federal levels. Our team is dedicated to fostering a strong and vibrant agricultural community in Elgin County, where farmers can thrive and succeed.

Our Objectives

Our objectives are clear and focused. We aim to develop and consolidate farmer opinion to promote activities that improve the welfare of individual farmers, farm families, and the farming industry as a whole. We bring the viewpoints and concerns of our membership to the Ontario Federation of Agriculture for policy development and action, and in turn, interpret OFA policy for our members in the County.

We also facilitate the transfer of information concerning the farming industry to all farmers in the County, ensuring that our members are well-informed and up-to-date on the latest developments. As the Elgin County affiliate of the OFA, we work to further the interests and welfare of county farmers and the farming industry, representing their interests in all areas of municipal, provincial, and federal policy-making processes.

Our Services

As a valued resource for farmers in Elgin County, we offer a range of services designed to support and benefit our members. These include:

• Lobbying and advocacy on behalf of our members at all levels of government
• Provision of information and resources on agricultural issues and industry developments
• Education and training opportunities to help farmers improve their skills and knowledge
• Representation on various committees and boards to ensure that the voices of farmers are heard
• Networking opportunities with other farmers, industry partners, and stakeholders

Education and Resources

We are committed to providing our members with access to the latest information and resources on agricultural issues and industry developments. Our Education and Resources section provides a wealth of information on topics such as farm safety, environmental stewardship, and market trends. We also offer educational programs and workshops, designed to help farmers improve their skills and knowledge in areas such as business management, marketing, and sustainability.
