Our Story

At Community Agencies Benefit Plans, our mission is to provide a comprehensive and cost-effective benefit package to our members, ensuring their financial security, health, and well-being. Our story began in 1971 with the formation of our Pension Plan, which has a long and rich history of providing a defined benefit pension plan to its members. As the name implies, your benefit at retirement is defined by the Plan's formula.

Over the years, our membership has expanded beyond our original foundation of United Way of Winnipeg and United Way Agencies to include not-for-profit social service agencies in Manitoba. In 1979, we launched our Group Insurance Plan, specifically designed for not-for-profit social service agencies. Like our Pension Plan, our membership has expanded beyond our original scope to include a wider range of organizations.
