The $10aDay Child Care Campaign is a grassroots movement driven by parents, educators, and community members united in the pursuit of accessible and affordable childcare in British Columbia. We believe that access to quality childcare is not only a fundamental right for families, but also a vital investment in the future of our province.

Our Goals

We are working towards achieving the following goals:

• Reduce parent fees by an average of 50% by December 2022.
• Bring $10aDay childcare to more families across British Columbia.
• Provide universal access to before and after school care on school grounds.
• Ensure Early Childhood Educators (ECEs) are a well-supported profession by advocating for competitive wages and comprehensive benefits.
• Move responsibility for childcare to the Ministry of Education to ensure stability and long-term sustainability.
• Protect childcare in law to guarantee access to quality programs for years to come.
• Create a new Child Care Capital Program to invest in building and upgrading childcare facilities.

Our Approach

We leverage research, community engagement, and advocacy to:

• Raise public awareness about the need for affordable childcare.
• Hold governments accountable for their childcare commitments.
• Support and empower ECEs through fair wages, professional development, and recognition.
• Mobilize communities to advocate for change.
