Nova Scotia School Insurance Exchange

The Nova Scotia School Insurance Program (SIP) is a not-for-profit organization that manages all aspects of property and casualty-related insurance for the Regional Centres for Education of Nova Scotia, Conseil scolaire acadien provincial (CSAP), and the Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC). Our organization is committed to providing comprehensive insurance coverage and risk management solutions to our subscribers, enabling them to focus on their core mission of providing high-quality education to the students of Nova Scotia.

Our History and Structure

The School Insurance Program comprises two main entities: the Nova Scotia School Insurance Exchange and the Nova Scotia School Insurance Program Association. The Exchange is an insurance reciprocal licensed by the Superintendent of Insurance for the Province of Nova Scotia, providing insurance coverage and managing claims on behalf of its subscribers. The Association, on the other hand, is the attorney-in-fact for the Exchange, providing staff and facilities to operate the Exchange. This structure allows us to efficiently manage the insurance needs of our subscribers while ensuring that we remain accountable to them.

Our Services

At the Nova Scotia School Insurance Program, we offer a comprehensive range of insurance services to our subscribers.
