Our History & Heritage

Pollard The Mover has been in business since 1951, previously owned by Ivan Pollard. Peter Katcher became the current owner 26 years ago after having worked for the company since he was 8 years old. Over the past 60 years, the house moving industry has undergone many changes, and Pollard The Mover has adapted with the times, using advances in technology to operate more efficiently and provide competitive rates. Our Services

Pollard The Mover provides a vast range of raising and moving services for your houses, cottages, barns, machinery, and more. Our team guarantees professional workmanship and a fully insured move, covering an area of 150 miles from the city of Kawartha Lakes. Our main moving and raising services include:

• Cottage Raising: Cottages are moved using a series of steel beams underneath, and our team works with masonry specialists to construct basements underneath the moved cottages.
• House Raising/Moving: We raise and move barns, stone/brick houses, historical houses, sheds, and more.
• Portable School Moves
• Industrial Machinery Moves: We move large tools, die machines, and other heavy industrial machinery.
• Float Service: We supply our floats for special moves, including moving homes or other buildings that are especially heavy.
• New Foundations/Basements Excavations: We provide excavations under buildings for new foundations, including the installation of products we use for moves.

At Pollard The Mover, we use fully hydraulic jacking and moving systems for all of our moves. A lot of our equipment is created by our team to get the job done right. Not all buildings are the same, and sometimes they require a more unique system to get them to their destination. Our experienced team is trusted to handle your most difficult moves.
