The Barrie Women's Hockey Association (BWHA) is a vibrant and inclusive hockey organization dedicated to fostering the development of female hockey players of all ages and skill levels. Founded in 1970, we are proud to be a founding member of the Ontario Women's Hockey Association (OWHA) and are committed to providing a positive and supportive environment for players to learn, develop, and compete in the sport we love.

Our Mission

Our mission is to:

• Develop players: By providing opportunities for players of all ages and abilities to improve their skills through comprehensive programming, coaching, and mentorship.
• Promote inclusivity: By fostering a welcoming and supportive environment that encourages players of all backgrounds, ethnicities, and abilities to participate.
• Celebrate success: By recognizing and celebrating the achievements of our players both on and off the ice.
• Empower our community: By partnering with local organizations and businesses to promote the sport and contribute to the development of female hockey in our community.

Our Services

We offer a comprehensive range of programs and services for players of all ages and skill levels, including:

• Competitive Programs: Travel teams for various age groups compete in the OWHA league.
• House League: A recreational league providing a fun and competitive outlet for players of all abilities.
• Development Programs: Skills clinics and workshops to help players develop their technical and tactical skills.
• Mentorship Programs: Experienced coaches and players provide guidance and support to younger players.
• Community Outreach: We partner with local schools and organizations to promote girls' hockey and inspire the next generation of players.
