At Foster's Seed & Feed, we are proud of our deep roots in agriculture and our community. As the largest privately-owned buyer and processor of creeping red fescue in Western Canada, we have built our reputation on integrity and delivering high-quality products and services. Our team listens to the needs of our customers and finds a way to help them achieve their goals. Now in our third generation of ownership, we continue to supply between 10 to 20 million pounds annually into the turf grass markets, working closely with producers in our area and building relationships with long-time customers and wholesalers in the seed industry worldwide.
Our Services
We offer a wide range of services to support the agricultural community in Western Canada. Our farm store in Beaverlodge is a one-stop shop for all your farm and garden needs, carrying a basic line of feeds and necessities for most farm animals. We also source individual requests whenever possible, providing exceptional customer service from our knowledgeable and friendly staff. Our seed products are of the highest quality, suited to the northern climate of Alberta and British Columbia, and we work with local farmers to produce this seed, reducing the introduction of weed seeds and disease.
Seed Production
At Foster's Seed & Feed, we take pride in our seed production process. Our Seed Farm, located in the Beaverlodge valley, produces pedigree and common seeds, including oats, wheat, barley, canola, creeping red fescue, perennial ryegrass, peas, and faba beans. We also have a state-of-the-art Seed Cleaning Plant, where we can process 80,000 pounds of fescue a day, buying fescue from local farmers, cleaning it, and shipping it within Canada and internationally. We also process timothy, perennial ryegrass, bromegrass, clovers, and other hard seeds.
Our Locations
We have three convenient locations to serve you: Beaverlodge, Grande Prairie, and Fort St. John. Our Beaverlodge location is open weekdays from 8am to 6pm, Saturdays from 8am to 4pm, and closed on Sundays. Our Grande Prairie location is temporarily closed, but please visit our Beaverlodge location for all your needs. Our Fort St. John location is open weekdays from 8am to 5pm.
