Knollwood Golf Club

Knollwood Golf and Country Club was founded in 1970 by Jack Harris, one of the most respected golf course superintendents in Canadian history. With a wealth of experience under his belt, Jack served as superintendent for 12 years at St. Georges Golf Club in Toronto, where he held the 1949 Canadian Open. He later moved to Ancaster and took over the most coveted of all superintendent positions at the venerable Hamilton Golf and Country Club, where he remained for 17 years. Jack's passion for golf and commitment to excellence led him to purchase a 50-acre farm on Shaver Road in Ancaster, where he began to work on a 9-hole layout. With his sons Jim and John, he planted thousands of trees, and amidst the natural beauty of the land, he laid out a course of memorably distinct golf holes. The result was the Old Course at Knollwood, which opened for play in 1970 and has since grown to become an 18-hole experience that respects the heritage of Ontario's historic courses.

Our Courses

Knollwood is proud to offer two exceptional golf courses for members and guests to enjoy. The Old Course, established in 1970, is a classic design that has been lovingly maintained to preserve its natural charm. With 18 holes, the Old Course is a true test of skill and strategy, featuring memorable holes and stunning vistas. The New Course, founded in 1989 by Jack Harris and his son Jim, adjoins the Old Course and offers a unique 18-hole layout that has been carefully crafted to work with the natural beauty of the property. With its rolling hills, tree-lined fairways, and undulating greens, the New Course provides a challenging yet enjoyable experience for golfers of all skill levels.

Club Memberships

At Knollwood, we offer a range of club memberships to suit individual lifestyles and preferences. Our Traditional Golf Membership is ideal for golfers who play regularly and enjoy the flexibility to golf up to 5 or 7 days a week. Our Debit Membership, on the other hand, is a fully flexible golf and social membership that appeals to golfers who play less frequently, but still want to enjoy the social aspects of club life. Purchases of golf, food, and beverages, as well as pro shop items, are debited from the balance on your card, making it easy to manage your expenses.
