Turning Pointe Dance Studio is a premier dance institution located in Hillcrest, Alberta, serving the Crowsnest Pass community and surrounding areas. With 22 years of operation, we take pride in providing exceptional dance education to students of all ages and skill levels.
Our Story
Our historic building, originally the Burnett & Cruikshank Store, has been our home for 14 years. With a rich history dating back to 1913, our studio has been renovated to provide a safe and welcoming environment for our students. Our journey began in 2001, operating out of Maple View Hall in Bellevue with a single studio and instructor. Today, we have grown to three studios and six instructors, offering a wide range of dance programs and classes.
Our Services
At Turning Pointe Dance Studio, we offer a diverse range of dance classes and programs to suit the needs of all families. From preschool to adult, our classes include ballet, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, tap, pointe, acro, contemporary, and acting. Our experienced instructors are committed to updating their skills, ensuring that our students receive the latest and most innovative dance techniques.
We offer three programs to cater to different needs: Sessional (8-12 weeks with optional performance), Full-Year (September-May programming with optional performances), and Competitive (mandatory 2 ballet classes a week, 1-2 competitions a year). Our studio is proud to offer Acrobatic Arts, Twinkle Star Dance, Acro dance Preschool, Royal Academy of Dance Ballet Exams, and Progressing Ballet Technique.

With years of experience and specialized certifications, our instructors strive to create a supportive and innovative environment that fosters growth and development in our students.
News and Events
Stay up-to-date with our latest news and events, including our Year-End Show, An Evening with the Stars Gala, and Christmas Show. We also participate in dance competitions and festivals around Southern Alberta, as well as extracurricular events like Disney Dance the Magic, Triple Threat Workshops in Calgary, Los Angeles Dance Workshops, and Tara Jean Workshops.
