Reix

The Real Estate Insurance Exchange (REIX) was established in 1991, when the real estate industry made a decision to govern itself by implementing self-insurance. As a non-profit organization, REIX provides reliable errors and omissions insurance to real estate licensees in Alberta and Saskatchewan. By using premiums to pay for the costs of defending claims and surplus funds to keep premiums low, REIX ensures that its subscribers receive cost-effective, financial protection. As a mandatory program, all real estate licensees in these provinces must be insured by REIX.

What We Do

REIX acts on behalf of our subscribers, protecting them from losses that result from errors, omissions, and negligent acts while performing their real estate duties. Our subscribers can rest assured that REIX will provide them with support in the event of a claim, giving them peace of mind as they focus on their work. REIX does not accept claims directly from members of the public. If you believe you have a claim for loss due to an error, omission, or negligent act committed by a real estate industry member, you should notify that subscriber and/or their managing broker, and seek independent legal advice.
