Empowering individuals to reach their full potential
Caroline Cayuga & Associates is a psychology professional corporation that provides psycho-educational assessment services for individuals with learning and attention difficulties. Led by Caroline Cayuga, M.A., C. Psych., registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario in School Psychology, our team is dedicated to helping individuals and their families better understand their learning and attention strengths and needs.
At Caroline Cayuga & Associates, we recognize the importance of providing personalized, supportive, and confidential assessment experiences. We foster relationships with schools, community agencies, and healthcare service providers to ensure the best outcome for our clients. Our goal is to provide clients with the understanding, recommendations, and tools necessary to maximize their learning potential.
Our Services
Caroline Cayuga & Associates offers psycho-educational assessments for school-aged children, adolescents, and adults. Our assessments typically take 4-6 hours and include a detailed background developmental history interview as well as test administration.
Our services focus on the assessment of thinking skills, processing abilities, memory, and attention skills. We also evaluate academic abilities and social-emotional factors which may contribute to learning difficulties. We aim to provide clients, families, and stakeholders detailed and actionable recommendations based on our comprehensive assessments.
What to Expect
Before the assessment, we will conduct a background developmental history interview, which will provide valuable context for the assessment. In the case of children or adolescents, this may include interviews with parents, while adolescents and adults can participate directly. We request that clients bring report cards or other relevant documentation regarding their or their child's educational progress to the assessment.
Following the assessment, clients can expect a detailed report outlining the results and summaries within a month. This report includes recommendations tailored to individual strengths and needs, allowing stakeholders to create tailored support plans and better understand the individual's learning style.
Funding an Assessment
Assessments are not funded by OHIP. However, extended health benefit plans from employers may cover part or all of the assessment costs. Post-secondary institutions may offer financial assistance such as bursaries to help with the cost of assessments. Our fees are based on rates provided by the Ontario Psychological Association and can be discussed upfront to ensure transparency.
Confidentiality
At Caroline Cayuga & Associates, we hold confidentiality as a key priority. We adhere to the Personal Health Information and Privacy Act (2004) and do not release personal information or report contents to third parties without written, informed consent. Exceptions include legal obligations, as outlined in legislation, to protect the wellbeing of the individual, others, or report healthcare professionals found to have sexually abused clients.
