Welcome to May Garden Chinese Restaurant, where we have been serving the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) for over 40 years. Our story began in 1976 when Glen and May Yeung opened the first little take-out restaurant on Lower Sackville's Beaverbank Road. Years later, in 1993, Eric Yeung, Glen and May's nephew, bought the restaurant from his aunt and uncle. Eric's vision was to continue the legacy of his aunt and uncle while expanding the business and upgrading the dining experience for his customers.

Our History

Under Eric's management, May Garden Chinese Restaurant has grown exponentially. He opened a second location in Bedford in 1995, and by 1996, the Beaverbank location was transformed into a full-fledged sit-down restaurant. In 2003, a third location in Dartmouth was added, and in 2018, a fourth location was opened inside the Casino NS in Halifax.

Our Menu

At May Garden Chinese Restaurant, we pride ourselves on offering a wide variety of dishes that cater to different tastes and dietary preferences. Our menu features a range of authentic Chinese dishes, including Cantonese and Szechuan cuisine, as well as Canadian Chinese favorites. From curries to Singapore noodles, and from Ginger Fried beef to Cantonese chow mein, there's something for everyone. We also offer a delectable dim sum menu on weekends and holidays.
