Jericho Kids Club

At Jericho Kids' Club, we are dedicated to providing a safe, challenging, and exciting environment that inspires a sense of belonging for the children, families, and staff. We are a non-profit before and after school care organization that offers morning and afternoon care, as well as care during professional days and school breaks for school-aged children (5 through 12 years) at three elementary schools.

Our programs are designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each child, providing a wide variety of activities and play opportunities to encourage creativity, self-expression, and socialization. We are committed to providing quality care based on social-emotional learning that is fun and engaging.

Our History and Governance

Jericho Kids' Club was established in 1989 at Bayview School and has since expanded to include programs at General Gordon School in 1991 and Southlands School in 2002. Our centers are licensed under the Community Care Facilities Act and serve children from kindergarten age through 12 years old. We are proud to meet or exceed license standards for child-to-staff ratios, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for all children.

Our Parent Advisory Board plays a vital role in the governance of Jericho Kids' Club. Comprising of parents from each of our schools, the Board advises and directs the organization in its decision-making processes. The Board is responsible for reviewing financial statements, setting goals, and advising on policies and procedures.

Our Staff

Our staff are carefully selected for their attitudes and abilities in the child care field. We prioritize hiring staff who share our values and commitment to providing quality care. All staff undergo a rigorous selection process, including verification of references and completion of criminal records checks.

We also invest in the ongoing professional development of our staff, recognizing the importance of ongoing learning and growth in the provision of quality care. Our staff are supported in their pursuit of continuing education and training, enabling them to stay updated on best practices and research in child development and care.
