At ProActive Fitness, we're dedicated to changing the way Saskatoon ages. Our mission is to provide a supportive and non-intimidating environment where mature adults can come together to improve their functional fitness and overall well-being. We believe that aging is mandatory, but growing old is optional, and that exercise should support the activities that bring joy and fulfillment to our lives.
Our Story
Our independent and locally-owned studio was founded on the principle that fitness is one of the best investments in time, money, and effort that a mature adult can make. We're proud to offer a unique approach to fitness that focuses on functional training, mobility, and small group sessions. Our certified personal trainers and exercise physiologists are also Functional Aging Specialists, ensuring that our members receive the highest level of care and attention.
Our Services
At ProActive Fitness, we offer a range of services designed to support our members' fitness journeys. Our small group training sessions are capped at 7 participants, ensuring that each member receives individual attention and guidance. We also offer private group and personal training sessions, as well as 35-minute Zoom small group training sessions for those who prefer to work out from the comfort of their own homes. Our services include:
- 35-minute in-studio small group training sessions
- 35-minute Zoom small group training sessions
- 45-minute private group and personal training sessions
- Individual attention for all clients to ensure safety and maximum results
- A clean, comfortable, and non-intimidating environment
- Certified personal trainers/exercise physiologists who are also Functional Aging Specialists

Trainer Qualifications and Expertise
Proactive Fitness trainers are specifically qualified with FAI (Functional Aging Institute) certification, which enables them to create and conduct programs tailored to the older age group.

Variety of Programs and Services
Proactive Fitness offers a range of programs and services, including 6-week challenges, group classes, and online training via Zoom. They cater to various ages and abilities, and the trainers are knowledgeable and able to adapt exercises to individual needs.
Personalized Attention and Results
Clients have reported significant improvements in their physical abilities, such as functional movement, core strength, and overall health. The small group sizes (6-8 people) ensure personalized attention and support from the trainers.
Accommodating and Adaptable
Proactive Fitness has been accommodating to clients' specific needs, such as those with knee, hip, back, or shoulder issues. They also adapted their services to include online training during the pandemic, providing clients with the option to participate from home.
