Transforming Outdoor Living Spaces, One Yard at a Time.
The Glen Cairn Co-operative Preschool is a place where young children come to learn, grow, and thrive in a nurturing and inclusive environment. Founded in 1968 by educator Angela Kilby, the preschool has been a staple in the community for generations, providing high-quality early childhood education to children aged 2.5 to 4 years old.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide a stimulating and engaging environment that fosters each child's unique development, creativity, and independence. We believe that children learn best through play, exploration, and imagination, and our experienced and passionate teachers are dedicated to supporting each child's growth and development.
Our Philosophy
At GCCP, we believe that children are curious, creative, and capable, and we strive to create an environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and self-expression. We believe that parents are their child's first and most important teachers, and we work closely with families to support their child's learning and development.
Our Programs
We offer a range of programs to suit different needs and schedules, including morning programs on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings, and full-week programs for children aged 2.5 to 4 years old. Our programs are designed to provide a comprehensive early childhood education, including circle time, play-based learning, outdoor play, and a healthy snack.
Meet Our Teachers
Our teaching team, Ainslie and Ashley, are both Registered Early Childhood Educators with years of experience in early childhood education. Ainslie has over 20 years of teaching experience, and Ashley has made the switch to Early Childhood Education after working in office administration and group fitness. Both Ainslie and Ashley are passionate about play-based learning and creating an inclusive environment that meets each child's unique needs.
Co-operative Model
As a co-operative preschool, we believe in the importance of parent involvement and participation. We offer a range of ways for parents to get involved, including making playdough, bringing snacks, and participating on our Board of Directors.
