Your Trusted Livestock Auction Mart in Grunthal, Manitoba
Grunthal Livestock Auction MRT was founded in the 1970s by a group of local Southeastern Manitoba producers to provide a convenient auction option for regional farmers. Originally established to eliminate the need for farmers to transport livestock and equipment to distant auction houses, we have remained locally owned and operated, governed by a board of Southern Manitoba producers. Our commitment to the agricultural community is reflected in our tagline, 'local from hoof to horn,' and our long-standing presence on Highway 205. Over the decades, we have expanded facilities and services to meet evolving industry demands, including adherence to modern animal health regulations and the introduction of innovative marketing strategies like our showlist system. In 2018, we launched Grunthal Auction Service to offer farm and consignment auctions across the region, complementing our on-site livestock and equipment sales. Our retail store, opened in recent years, provides a growing inventory of livestock and farm supplies, further diversifying our offerings. We take pride in supporting Southern Manitoba's agricultural diversity, accommodating not only traditional livestock like cattle, hogs, and horses but also alpacas and llamas. Hosting the 2019 Manitoba/Saskatchewan Auctioneering Championship underscored our role in connecting with the broader auction industry. Our focus on reducing animal stress through facility upgrades and strategic cattle pre-sorting has enhanced buyer satisfaction and sale efficiency. Looking ahead, we remain dedicated to evolving with our customers' needs while preserving our heritage as a trusted partner in the agricultural sector.
