Exploring the Game, Sharing the Experience
The Mission Health Care Auxiliary Society is an organization of dedicated men and women who have been providing non-medical services and comforts to patients at Mission Memorial Hospital for over 100 years. Our mission is to support, enhance, and promote health care in our community through volunteering and fundraising. We take great pride in our history and the vital role we play in supporting the hospital and local health care facilities.
Our History
As one of Mission's oldest volunteer organizations, our society has been raising funds for health care needs in the community since 1920. Over the years, our members have worked tirelessly to provide essential services and comforts to patients, and to raise funds for medical equipment and other health-related projects. From humble beginnings, where members held teas, bake sales, and bazaars to raise funds, we have grown into a thriving organization with a strong presence in the community.
Our Services
We offer a range of services that cater to the non-medical needs of patients at Mission Memorial Hospital. These include:
- Ambulatory Daycare Reception: Providing a warm and welcoming environment for patients undergoing ambulatory care procedures.
- Cottage Thrift Store: Raising funds through the sale of donated items, with all proceeds going towards supporting health care initiatives in the community.
- Emergency Clothing Cupboard: Providing essential clothing and toiletries to patients in need.
- Equipment Loans: Lending medical equipment to patients who require it.
- The Gift Shop: Offering a range of gifts and sundries to patients, visitors, and hospital staff.
