Our Story
At Whidden Park Campground & Cottages, we're proud to be Antigonish's premier downtown camping and cottage destination for over 60 years. Our clean and quiet grounds are situated next to the picturesque Brierly Brook, offering family-friendly accommodations in the heart of Antigonish. We're within walking distance of restaurants, shopping, theatres, golf, and the beautiful campus of St. Francis Xavier University.
Our Services
We offer a range of camping options to suit your needs, from RV rentals to cottages and campsites. Our campground features 154 campsites, including 3-way and 2-way hookups, as well as six cozy cottages perfect for families or couples. Our on-site RV rentals are available for weekly stays, and we also offer a range of amenities to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable.
About Our Campground
Our campground is designed to provide everything you need for a great stay in downtown Antigonish. We offer great free WiFi to keep you connected, park-wide. Guests have free use of our two saltwater swimming pools, one of which is heated, as well as two playgrounds, basketball and horseshoe facilities. We also have a campsite map to help you navigate our grounds.
Our History
Whidden Park has come a long way since its humble beginnings as a farmland in 1961. Our founder, Albert E. Whidden, decided to rent out a few small sections of his fields to tourists, and the campground quickly grew in popularity. Today, our 15-acre park is a tranquil oasis in the heart of Antigonish, with beautiful mature trees, expansive lawns, and the soothing sound of the Brierly Brook.
