Insurance that protects your trust
At PHS Community Services Society, we are dedicated to providing innovative solutions to support some of the most vulnerable and under-served individuals in Vancouver and Victoria. Our organization is driven by a passion to make a positive impact in the lives of those who need it most. As a registered charity, we strive to create a safe and supportive environment for individuals who are often overlooked and marginalized.
Our Mission
Our mission is to develop, maintain, and promote affordable housing for individuals who are poorly served elsewhere in the community due to their physical health, mental health, behavioural issues, substance dependencies, forensic history, and for those who are homeless. We believe that everyone deserves a safe and supportive environment, and we are committed to providing housing, healthcare, harm reduction, and health promotion services to those who need it most.
Our Services
We offer a range of innovative and internationally recognized programs and services, including:
- Supportive Housing: We provide over 1,700 units of supportive housing in Vancouver and Victoria, ensuring that individuals have a safe and stable place to call home.
- Health Services: Our comprehensive primary care clinics, dental services, mental health, and addiction treatment services are designed to support individuals in achieving optimal health and wellness.
- Harm Reduction: We provide innovative harm reduction programs and services that are tailored to meet the unique needs of our clients.
- Community Projects: Our community projects are designed to engage and connect people in our community, providing effective programming that meets the needs of the Downtown Eastside population.
- Social Enterprise: Our social enterprise, Community Thrift and Vintage, connects and engages people in our community, promoting social change and community development.
Our History
In 1991, our founder, Liz Evans, began supporting marginalized people from a single-room occupancy hotel in the heart of Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. Since then, we have grown to become a leading provider of innovative and award-winning programs and services. Our commitment to Housing First and harm reduction has made a significant impact in the lives of thousands of individuals, and we continue to evolve and adapt to meet the changing needs of our community.
Join Our Mission
We invite you to join us in our mission to make a difference in the lives of others. Whether you are an individual, business, or organization, your support can help us continue to deliver innovative solutions and make a positive impact in our community.
